Hanna Edwards is a full-time artist living in Western Australia. Hanna studied art through the Milan Art Institute, her work is a blend of traditional and modern techniques, utilizing mixed media processes combined with oil painting with a focus on self-expression, abstract forms, and intricate details.
Hanna's artwork stands as a testament to her life experiences and unwavering commitment to self-expression, self-care, imagery, and symbols that resonate with her. Despite facing numerous challenges throughout her journey, she has found a way to heal the fractured and broken parts of herself through her art. With each piece, she is inspired to keep pushing herself to new heights. Hanna approaches her craft with discipline and determination, allowing her to show up at her canvas each and every day. Hanna often quotes “ If you change your thoughts you can change your life, you can learn anything and achieve anything if you put in the time”
Through her work, Hanna aspires to speak to the heart and soul of her audience, inspiring them to achieve greatness. She believes that her art has a means of self-discovery and healing for people who seek freedom and happiness for themselves. When creating her textured surfaces with modelling paste, Hanna builds her layers with transparent washes building up to solid opaque layers. She enjoys creating expressive marks, using crayons, spray paint and stencils, combining imagery that creates a strong emotional response deep within. Hanna mostly paints women and animals, although she also enjoys painting flowers and insects.
